July 12, 2019
Voice User Group 2019 continues to drive innovation into the Digital Warehouse with the launch of VoiceMan DA Gamification and VoiceMan ONE
A record number of industry leaders attended the world’s biggest voice user group (#VUG19), exploring the evolving future of logistics. Logistics problems solvers Voiteq, continue to lead the warehousing space forward with the launch of two new products: VoiceMan DA Gamification and VoiceMan ONE.
Gamification, an established tool in the consumer market has been proven to drive a 10%+ increase in engagement. Voiteq has worked to harness this technology, integrate it with voice-directed work and translate engagement into tangible benefits inside the warehouse – an industry first for logistics.
Matt Gregory, Voiteq UK Sales Director adds, “The competition for talent in today’s warehouses has never been greater; the people we rely on every day to fulfil our orders are demanding more. They want to feel part of the brand; they want to feel engaged and, most importantly, as digital natives, they are no longer passive consumers of technology – they expect technology to work alongside and support them as they carry out their daily tasks. DA Gamification not only engages and motivates staff but translates this increased engagement into tangible productivity and accuracy gains whilst boosting staff morale”.
Another game changer showcased at the event was VoiceMan ONE. A new addition to the VoiceMan Warehouse Execution portfolio, built on 19 years of innovation. VoiceMan ONE is a fully productised Warehouse Execution Suite custom built for today’s digital warehouse. Harnessing the latest technologies and platforms, VoiceMan ONE covers all warehouse processes, allowing organisations to seamlessly add the latest technologies and workflows into existing WMS/ERP systems.
Engineered for the future, VoiceMan ONE has standardised interfaces for automation, robotics, vision and voice all wrapped up with embedded real-time analytics and Voiteq’s latest Dynamic Order Optimisation Engine. Gregory adds “VoiceMan ONE is taking warehouse execution to the next level, providing warehouse leaders with the flexibility, agility and real-time information needed to run a profitable and efficient operation”.
Voiteq UK Managing Director Isabel McCabe adds, “For #VUG19 we stepped it up another level, making it all about the future of logistics. We’re excited to announce our two brand new offerings along with our 2020 roadmap and it’s great to hear the enthusiastic reaction from the leaders of the UK logistics industry. We had a fantastic line up of customer speakers at VUG19, sharing their own logistics journeys and their own digital strategies.”
Presentations were delivered from key industry speaker John Munnelly (John Lewis and Partners), and customers, Crown Paints and Sainsbury’s. Each explored the evolving landscape of logistics and shared their own technology transformations around voice and automation as they continue their own success stories. Diamond sponsor and guest speaker Honeywell shared their product roadmap and discussed the future of voice and wearable technologies.
Gregory took to the stage in the afternoon to host an industry-led panel discussion focusing on digital strategies for the warehouse, how operations can engage with the millennial workforce, the future of retail and the high street. Panelists included UKWA Chairman Peter Ward, Michael Stevens (Head of Logistics at Crown Paints), Dave Jacobs (Head of Implementation at Sainsbury’s), Thomas Hunt (Group Operations Director at Hunts Foodservice), and James Hendrickson (Director Of Marketing and Product Management at Honeywell).
“This years’ VUG has been more interactive than ever before with product-focused track sessions and breakout exploration zones for Körber Logistics and Honeywell,” continues Gregory. “Year on year we listen to delegate feedback and work hard to ensure we deliver a valuable event.”
This year Voiteq welcomed 6 new customers to the user group and highlighted a selection of innovative new projects completed globally over the last 12 months. Customer Michael Stevens, Head of Logistics at Crown Paints added; “This is a great event and I really enjoyed the opportunity to both speak and attend. The team and I left with new ideas to take back to the business and further develop what we have on site”.
Isabel McCabe, managing director at Voiteq UK added, “Our very first Voice User Group had just 20 people attend. Nine years later we’ve had over 150 attendees take the time to come to our event. I’m so proud that it’s still a firm customer favourite. Voice User Group has gained a reputation for its innovative and valuable content, as well as being a fantastic networking opportunity – it really has become a leading event for the industry.”
VUG will return in June 2020 for its 10th Voice User Group.
